Students hold protest in front of Medical Program (Jubi) |
Jayapura, 28/5 (Jubi) – Medical students at the Cenderawasih
University insisted on their demand for the replacement of the medical
faculty’s dean.
“We hope the First Assistant Dean is also with the First and Third
Assistants Rector in the meeting hearing the students’ voices,” student
protester Michael Yerisitouw said in a speech in front of the
university’s auditorium in Abepura on Wednesday (28/5).
The students said the dean has adopted several policies that harm
them and failed to maintain classrooms’ condition and facilities.
“What we’ve done today is for the long-term interest. It’s for our juniors who intend to study in this faculty to not experience a similar situation we have today,” Yerisitouw said.
Meanwhile Third Assistant Rector Freddy Sokoy said he would convey the students’ demand to the rector.
“I’ve listened and will forward this to the Rector,” he told to the students. (Jubi/Aprila/rom)
